Welcome to Year 3
Mrs Tennant and Miss Harrison lead the teaching and learning in Year 3, supported by a number of Learning Support Assistants. As the children transition into Key Stage 2, we encourage them to become more independent and take more responsibility for their learning.
We work very closely together and plan carefully to ensure that there is an exciting curriculum with lots of enriching activities, including problem solving tasks. The children follow the new National Curriculum, which you can read all about on the Department for Education website. We are keen to get the balance right between class unity, working in mixed ability groupings and pitching work appropriately for each child’s individual level.
