Art
At St John’s Primary School, our intent is to deliver a high-quality art and design education that engages, inspires, and challenges all pupils. Using the AccessArt curriculum, we aim to develop pupils' creativity, confidence, and critical thinking while providing a rich and balanced experience of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, and mixed media. We strive to make art accessible, inclusive, and meaningful for every child, celebrating individuality and enabling pupils to see themselves as artists.

Art in the Community
Each year, students showcase their artistic growth in our annual phase art exhibitions, where their work is celebrated by the school community and beyond. We also collaborate with local artists, offering students the opportunity to learn from practicing professionals and engage with the wider creative community.

Arts Council
One child from each class is elected as part of the Arts Council every year. The Arts Council at St John’s work hard to promote the creative arts across our school. They play a vital role in supporting high-quality creative arts teaching and learning, ensuring every pupil has a voice and the opportunity to express themselves through the arts. They enjoy taking part in creative events in school and working with local artists. They are proud to lead our annual Arts Week, a highlight of the school calendar, where imagination and creativity take centre stage.
