St John’s was last inspected by Ofsted in April 2018.  We are very proud of our school and rightly so!  We are a good school and still striving for continual improvement.

The inspection criteria has changed somewhat since we were last inspected and expectations have been raised considerably.  To remain good, schools have to demonstrate that they have met and sometimes exceeded Ofsted requirements.

Under the new inspection criteria, we received a one-day inspection as an already good school.  You will see that the new report takes the form of a letter and does not award individual grades for each area as before and is not as detailed.  You will also see that a range of evidence was presented and scrutinised during the day.

What really stands out in the report is how ‘unanimously positive’ parents are about our school.

“I could not be happier with this school, my son loves being there, the level of care and nurturing from the staff is wonderful.  The way they make you feel involved is very special.”

To further validate this, we were thrilled to be awarded National Teaching School status.  This recognises the good work that we do and will enable us to be an outward-facing school leading on:

  • Teacher training

  • Training for teachers and leaders across the Authority

  • Providing support for schools that need it most

We are the only the second primary school within Warwickshire to be awarded this status, so we take that responsibility very seriously.
