Physical Education

At St. John's we aim to provide all pupils with access to a high quality P.E curriculum that inspires them to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically demanding activities.

Welcome to our PE page! Mr Satchwell leads PE at St. John's and would be very happy to answer any questions you may have.

Aims

The national curriculum for physical education aims to ensure that all pupils:

  • develop competence to excel in a broad range of physical activities
  • are physically active for sustained periods of time
  • engage in competitive sports and activities
  • lead healthy, active lives.

At St John's we teach a broad, balanced and exciting PE curriculum through Create Development's Core Real PE. This ensures all children are taking part in a wide variety of physical activities which focus on transferrable skills and fundamental movement skills related to a range of sports.

Furthermore, years 3 and 4 will complete a swimming unit during the Spring Term and top-up swimming sessions will be offered to those that need it in years 5 and 6.
