Phonics

Phonics is taught from EYFS upwards and forms a huge part of Early Years and KS1 learning. Daily phonic sessions take place in Reception, Year One and Year 2 to ensure that children are fluent readers by the time they reach KS2.  In line with the Government advice re phonics teaching, we have changed our phonics scheme this year to Rocket Phonics. Children in year one will take their phonics screening test in the summer.
