Spelling and Handwriting

Spelling

Spelling plays a key role in our day-to-day curriculum and children have daily spelling lessons in their classes. We follow the 'SpellingShed' scheme to ensure that children are covering their year group spellings as well as revising spellings from the previous year groups. The children learn their spellings through games and fun activities. They are then tested on these spellings in school every Tuesday.

Handwriting

Children practise handwriting every week in their classes. We follow the 'Letterjoin' scheme for handwriting. The children take lots of pride in their writing and handwriting plays a huge part in this. When publishing their English work, handwriting is a huge focus.
