Welcome

Welcome to our school!

St. John’s is an inclusive and nurturing school set in extensive grounds, close to Central Kenilworth. We are very lucky that we also have our own Nursery, Out of School Club and Family and Wellbeing Centre under the St John’s umbrella. Our school has a very good reputation locally and with the Local Authority.

The school itself is bright, spacious, safe and welcoming. Classrooms are all consistent throughout the school, making transition from each year group successful. We have a wealth of resources to support learning and very much value developing the whole child. We pride ourselves on our strong relationships with families and the school itself has a lovely family feel. The teaching team are all fantastic practitioners and all of the St. John’s community from the office, to the kitchen, through to the learning support assistants all subscribe fully to our caring ethos and a real desire for everyone to have high aspirations and high self-esteem.

We are currently a single form entry school with extra classes in some year groups and will be growing between September 2024 and September 2030. Nursery to Year 3 are situated in the newest part of the school, whilst Years 4-6 are situated in the older part of the school with larger classrooms, high ceilings and lovely big windows. The school is complimented by a learning hub for group work, a well-stocked library, spacious hall and on site kitchen. All children in Reception, year one and two are entitled to a free school meal. These are cooked on site and our cook in charge is very accommodating with and dietary needs.

Our curriculum is a real strength of our school. It is organised into half termly learning themes centred around high quality and stimulating texts. Our curriculum is broad and balanced, giving the children rich and varied experiences. We speak with our children regularly to find out their opinions of the school, with several student groups including junior leaders, digital leaders and the arts council.

The thriving after school club is staffed by our own staff who also subscribe to the schools aims and values. It is extremely popular and continues to go from strength to strength, providing quality enrichment between 7.30am and 6.00pm.

I really hope you enjoy the website and that it gives you a real flavour for how special St. John’s really is. You will find friendly and dedicated staff from the first welcome at the office to approachable and knowledgeable staff. I hope that you do choose St. John’s for your child; it really is a thriving school that continues to go from strength to strength.
